The Quirk

ICYMI (in case you missed it) Millennial Pink is a thing. And the Quirk Hotel has just enough rosy hues to catch my attention.Named one of Travel and Leisure’s “Best Places to Travel”, this Richmond art-based boutique hotel certainly lives up to its name.Housed inside an old 1916 luxury department store—with the 13-foot ceilings and original maple floors to prove it—the property connects to the Quirk Gallery, a neighboring art space directed by co-owner Katie Ukrop. Funky paintings, pink velvet couches, and metallic accents are artfully scattered throughout the lobby and common areas.Each room at the Quirk is totally unique. Tall, bright windows and minimalist furniture with cheery accents make you feel like you’ve stepped right into a magazine. Also, definitely not complaining about the 2 bathrooms in the King suite. Who doesn’t love more space to do their makeup?Other perks of the Quirk? A rooftop bar with stellar views and a farm-to-table restaurant (Maple and Pine) serving up delicious southern-inspired dishes. I’d be remised not to mention its close proximity to a slew of Garden and Gun-recommended bars and restaurants (hello South’s Best Food Towns).Staying at this whimsical hotel over the weekend was such a treat. Next time you find yourself in Richmond, make sure you stop by the Quirk to get your millennial pink fix.
